United Way of Forsyth County
United Way of Forsyth County works to help bridge the gap between the needs that exist, the services that are provided, and the cost of making those services available to the folks who need them. It raises awareness of the needs and services that exist within the community, measures the priority of needs, facilitates the formation of partnerships and collaborations to address unmet needs, and cultivates greater support of local providers through volunteer coordination efforts. Help United Way create literacy kits and snack packs for elementary school students. |
There's Hope for the Hungry
There's Hope for the Hungry serves throughout North Georgia to share the Gospel with everyone and provide boxes of groceries to those in need. Assistance is needed with packing food boxes and loading them into trucks for distribution. |
Meals by Grace
Meals By Grace partners with school social workers to identify children who come to school hungry on a regular basis. We take hot meals and shelf-stable food to these children and their families so that they can eat during the week, on weekends and during school breaks. Volunteers are needed to deep clean and organize the Meals by Grace pantry for incoming shoppers. These shopping families may have limited or unreliable transportation, experience frequent food insecurity or are working to overcome with a major health or work loss event. |
Furkids Animal Rescue
Furkids is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for rescued dogs. Help clean and prepare Furkids' event facility for an upcoming function. Or work on an outdoor clean-up project and update the Furkids' "Tree of Life" and enjoy playtime with cats and dogs! |

Pick Your Own Project!
OneForsyth's MLK Week of Service initiative seeks to engage our entire community in service to others in celebration of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. This service work does not have to be limited to the list on this site! Do you volunteer regularly already in our community with plans to do so between January 11th and January 18th? Do you know an organization not listed here that could really use your help? All of these efforts contribute to OneForsyth's goal! Help us tally our total hours of service by logging your own efforts (any efforts not included in the projects listed above) with us. Hours contributing to the projects listed above will be included in our 2024 tally! |
